A parametric facade for an office building, inspired by the geometry of dahlia petals.
Form evolution
The form is found in six steps. The corner point is the origin. A Fibonacci spiral guides the flow. Petal curves are placed along it. The petals thicken at the origin and thin towards the top. Layering creates depth and shifting shadows. A seamless organic facade emerges.

The petal module
Petal thickness runs from 300 millimetres at the origin to 50 millimetres at the top, for structural efficiency and visual lightness. Each module is 600 millimetres tall, 300 wide and 150 deep, in GRC, UHPC or aluminium, finished matte white or pearl, on an aluminium support frame in front of the glass.
The curves control sunlight and cut glare. The shade lowers heat gain and cooling loads, while the open weave keeps views from inside and out. The pattern can be scaled, rotated and adapted to other facade proportions and orientations.
